History

Oklahoma became the 46th state on November 16, 1907.

Its quarter features the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Oklahoma's state bird, flying with its distinctive long tail feathers spread behind it.

The bird is surrounded by Indian blanket wildflowers, Oklahoma's state wildflower. Together, the elements create a design centered on the state's native wildlife and prairie landscape.
