Handcrafted from an authentic 1999 Delaware State Quarter, this ring celebrates The First State and the story of Caesar Rodney, whose famous horseback journey became part of the history of American independence.
History
Delaware became the first state to ratify the Constitution on December 7, 1787, earning its enduring nickname, “The First State.”
Its quarter features Caesar Rodney on horseback. Rodney famously rode approximately 80 miles through difficult weather to Philadelphia in July 1776, arriving in time to cast a decisive Delaware vote in favor of American independence.
The design includes “The First State” and “1787,” tying the coin directly to Delaware's unique place in American history.
Once formed into a ring, portions of Rodney, his horse, and the original inscriptions wrap around the band.
